The central theme of our research work is based on synthetic organic and polymer chemistry involving the synthesis of small molecules, polymers, their purification and characterization. We are currently focusing in two research directions which are given below.

1. We are developing cost-effective and environment friendly methods for polymers synthesis. We are also interested in the synthesis of depolymerizable and degradable polymers in order to provide an efficient solution for the recycling of material waste. In addition, we are exploring the applicability of these polymers in energy storage.

2. We are exploring the synthesis of Psammaplysin A and its derivatives which act as anticancer agents. The research work is aimed at reducing the number of steps involved in the synthesis of these anticancer medicines, thus making their manufacturing process cost-effective and environment friendly.
